A Devastating incident has unfolded in Ondo State, where a labourer, Sunday Emmanuel, allegedly macheted his wife, Linda, to death and severely injured his three-year-old son.
The Chief Magistrate’s Court in Akure ordered Emmanuel’s remand at the Correctional Facility pending advice from the Department of Public Prosecutions.
Police prosecutor Inspector Josephine Awanna stated, “The defendant, Sunday Emmanuel, unlawfully killed his wife, Linda Emmanuel, by macheting her on the neck and cheek.” Awanna added that Emmanuel also attempted to kill his three-year-old son, Sunday, by macheting him on the head, leaving the child with life-threatening injuries.
“The argument got heated up, and the man entered the room, took a machete, and allegedly cut his wife to death,” Awanna explained.

Chief Magistrate Olateju Odenusi-Fadeyi ordered Emmanuel’s remand, stating, “The defendant is hereby remanded at the Correctional facility in Ondo town, pending advice from the Department of Public Prosecutions.”
The case has been adjourned until February 2, 2025, for further mention.
