The bandits who abducted worshippers at the Christ Apostolic Church CAC, Eruku in Ekiti local government area of Kwara state have placed N100M on each of the Thirty Eight abductees.
Recall that five persons were also shot dead, while several of the worshippers were injured in the tragic incident that occurred on Tuesday evening.
A community leader and Olori Eta of Eruku , Chief Olusegun Olukotun whose four relatives were among the kidnapped victims confirmed the bandits request.
Chief Olukotun who spoke with journalists Thursday said the bandits have started contacting family members.
Olukotun, also said that he was in church with five of his family members when the incident occurred, adding that he and one of his wards escaped the attack around 6:06pm through the church window.
According to him on the bandits request,”From what we gathered from the kidnappers camp, they (kidnappers) have grouped the victims according to their relations and are now calling our people through each of the group.
”Some people in the community have received calls from the kidnappers demanding N100m for each person but as regard my own people I have not receive any call concerning them, so I am still waiting,” he said.
Contacted,Spokesperson of the Community, Olasukanmi Ayeni also confirmed the development.
“I also heard that the bandits have been reaching out to families of the victims in their custody.There hasn’t been power supply in many parts of Eruku for the past five days,so I haven’t been able to reach out to some of our people.
“As soon as I get further details I will share it with you “he told Vanguard in an interview Thursday evening.
