A Senior lecturer at the Department of Islamic Studies, Al-Hikma University, Ilorin, Kwara State Dr. Sanusi Lafiagi has appealed to the people of Kwara Central and Kwara South to support the Kwara North to produce a Governor in the 2027 Guber election.
Dr. Lafiagi who is also the Chief Imam of the first Islamic faith-based university in Nigeria spoke on the topic “equity, fairness and justice: the Islamic perspective” at a Ramadan lecture and Iftar organized by the ‘Friends of SYD’ in Ilorin, the state capital.
He explained that Allah commands justice and abhors injustice, adding that Islam is built on equity, justice, and fairness which must be adhered to by all Muslims in all their public and private dealings to attain felicity in this world and the hereafter.
According to the Islamic Scholar, “I’m a Kwara Northerner; a region that has not produced a governor in 26 years. By 2027 when the current governor leaves (office), Kwara Central would have been in power for 20 years, while Kwara South held power for 8 years. In the spirit of equity, fairness, and justice, the next governor should come from Kwara North. This is an appeal to our brothers from the other regions. This state belongs to all of us, and we will all contribute (Inshaa Allah) to the development.”
