KANO – Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has expressed optimism that the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) will emerge victorious in the forthcoming Local Government elections in the state, slated for October 26, 2024.
During a meeting with the party’s chairmanship candidates, Governor Yusuf emphasized the need for candidates to connect with their constituents and share the party’s message of restoration for mutual development.
“I am confident that we shall emerge victorious on October 26,” Governor Yusuf stated.
In a related development, over 1,000 All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters have defected to the NNPP, aligning themselves with the Kwankwasiyya movement led by former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. This mass defection is seen as a significant boost for the party, solidifying its foothold in Kano.
