A Media consultant handling the annual Osun-Osogbo international festival has barred journalists from covering this year’s event.
Osun Osogbo festival is an international festival which enjoyed wide media coverage for decades and took place inside the Osun grove, a heritage centre.
A public notice in circulation signed by one Oyindamola Olukanni, which was sighted by our reporter, stated that no media house, including print and broadcast is allowed to publish or broadcast the event without permission from a named branding outfits.
The notice tagged “Important Public notice”, reads partly, “No media house (Broadcast,print, OOH) and social media/digital platform, influencer, skit makers or merchandisers should broadcast, publish, or use any content (logos,photos, videos or audio clips etc, digital) related to the trademark and copyrighted Osun Osogbo Festival 2024 without the written consent and permission of the organisers.
“Total compliance with the directive is mandatory. Whoever violates the above or infringes on the intellectual property rights of OsunOsogboFestival 2024 will be liable and would be made to face the full force of the law including potential legal action.
