Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has assured People Living with Disabilities of his administration commitment to taking care of their basic need, saying he would not leave to suffer.
This is as he distributed health insurance cards to 9,500 PWDs enrolled on the state health insurance scheme free of charge and distributed life-support gadgets, including automated wheelchairs, manual wheel chairs and crutches, artificial limbs walking sticksto aid their mobility.
Speaking after the distribution of the gadget at in Osogbo, he disclosed that the gesture is to ensure that the cluster is not left behind in his administration welfare scheme.

He adds, “I am extremely glad that today I am presenting the OHIS card for access to free healthcare to the group of people living with disability across the state. I am not only presenting the cards, but I am also providing them with life-support gadgets and state-of-the-art medical aids that will make their existence more meaningful. They are my people; they voted for me, and they have been doing everything to support me.
“Thousands of wheelchairs (manual and automated), crutches, walking sticks, talking watches, artificial limbs, hearing aids, ultraviolet umbrellas, cream and glasses – for albinos and many more other gadgets. Some of these people with disabilities will also undergo free surgical procedures to cure their ailments”.
Earlier in his remark, the Executive Secretary, Osun Health Insurance Agency, OSHIA, Dr Razak Akindele said the agency is dedicated to ensuring quality healthcare delivery to the vulnerable groups in the state free of charge.
