Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has been re-elected for a second term, and he’s promising to continue delivering on his campaign promises.

In his acceptance speech on Sunday, November 17, 2024, Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to the people of Ondo State for renewing his mandate, saying, “I feel greatly humbled and honoured by this renewed mandate you have given me to continue in office as your Governor.”
He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a free, fair, and credible election, and also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing exemplary leadership and ensuring a level playing ground during the election.
Aiyedatiwa pledged to run an inclusive and participatory government, prioritizing the welfare of the people, fostering economic growth, and ensuring the state remains a beacon of hope and prosperity for generations to come.
“As your Governor, I promise to continue to run an inclusive and participatory government, where every citizen has a voice and an opportunity to contribute to our collective progress,” he said.
The governor extended an olive branch to opposition parties, inviting them to collaborate in building a better Ondo State. “Let us put aside our differences and work together to create a brighter future for ourselves, our children, and our communities,” he urged.
Aiyedatiwa’s re-election is seen as a continuation of the legacy of his predecessor, late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, whom he had served under as deputy governor.
