In a move aimed at improving intelligence gathering and repositioning the police for effective and modern methods of investigations, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu E.
Has ordered the immediate redeployment of all state criminal investigation units police officers to other formations, commands, and training schools across the country.
According to Kebbi Command Police image maker, SP Nafiu Abubakar, the redeployment is designed to enhance intelligence gathering and align with global standards.

The IGP’s directive is also part of efforts to improve investigation tactics in accordance with the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 and the Police Act 2020.
The IGP has further emphasized the need for professionalism in policing, hinting at retraining investigative police officers through workshops to equip them with the required expertise in intelligence gathering. This move is expected to improve the internal security apparatus across the country.
