    Ife auto accident claims five lives

    Tragedy struck in Ile-Ife, Osun State, last Thursday, when a gas tanker collided with a commercial bus carrying 17 passengers, resulting in the death of five persons including a toddler. The incident occurred on the Ife-Ibadan express road.

    Adekunle Ibraheem, Head of Publicity and Public Enlightenment for the Osun Fire Service, confirmed that the bodies of two adult males, two adult females, and a toddler were recovered from the wreckage.

    The accident occurred when the gas tanker, belonging to Gasland Limited, overran the commercial bus and crushed it, causing both vehicles to swerve off the road into a ditch. Emergency Responders, including the Osun Fire Service, FRSC Ile-Ife Zonal Command, and local residents, worked together to recover the bodies, which were then taken to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital morgue.
