TheState taskforce has launched a series of raids on notorious hideouts, resulting in the arrest of at least 30 suspects.

On Friday, the Lagos State Taskforce arrested 20 suspected hoodlums during a strategic raid operation targeting criminal hideouts within the Agboyi-Ketu and Alapere axis.

The operation, coordinated by Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, Adetayo Akerele, focused on areas notorious for harboring undesirable elements, including Mile-12 Under-Bridge, Ketu Bus Stop, and Alapere.

According to Akerele, “The suspects believed to be involved in unlawful activities are currently in custody and will be charged to court without delay.” He emphasized that the operation was a response to calls from Lagosians for a clampdown on criminals terrorizing the areas.

In a separate operation, a special transport union taskforce in Oshodi apprehended at least 10 miscreants suspected of robbing passengers around Oshodi-Oke and environs. The suspects, including a recently released prisoner, were arrested at their hideouts on top of Oshodi pedestrian bridge and handed over to the Lagos taskforce for prosecution.

The taskforce leader revealed that the suspects were involved in various criminal activities, including phone snatching, wallet picking, and environmental offenses. With the support of KAI Marshal, Major Olaniyi Cole, and the National Union of Road Transport Workers, the taskforce was able to bust into a shop used as a hideout by the suspects and arrest over 12 suspects.

These operations demonstrate the Lagos State Taskforce’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of Lagos residents. The public is urged to report suspicious activities through the appropriate channels to support the taskforce’s efforts.
