    Hajj and Umrah Tour Operators Association pays courtesy visit to NAHCON Chairman

    The Hajj and Umrah Tour Operators Association paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Alhaji Abdullahi Saleh, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

    The visit was aimed at congratulating and showing solidarity with the new Chairman/CEO.

    During the visit, the Commissioner of Operations, Alhaji Anofiu Elegushi Olanrewaju, introduced the Association to the Chairman/CEO, emphasizing their readiness to work with the Commission for better service delivery to Nigerian pilgrims. Olanrewaju also cautioned the Association, saying, “We do not expect rivalry but cooperation.”

    The President of the Association, Alhaji Mohammed Auwal Sulaiman, informed the Commission about their legally registered Association with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), which makes them eligible for recognition as part of the Hajj industry. Sulaiman assured the Commission of their loyalty and support to its mandate.

    The Secretary of the Association, Alhaji Bemekun Rasheed Adekunle, praised NAHCON’s refund to Nigerian pilgrims, describing it as a first-of-its-kind gesture. Adekunle assured the Commission of their solidarity and support for better service delivery.

    The Association’s Legal Adviser, Hajiya Kehinde, emphasized that transparency, accountability, and honesty are the core reasons for the Association’s existence.
    In his remarks, the Chairman/CEO welcomed the Association and assured them of the Commission’s readiness to work with them.

    He advised the Association to unite and boost their performance in delivering better services to their pilgrims. “The doors of the Commission are always open and ever ready to work with them whenever they need support,” he stated.
