Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has expressed his sympathies to Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, and the people of Borno State following the catastrophic flood that wreaked havoc in the state.

In a condolence message to Governor Zulum, Governor Idris described the flood as “highly devastating and unprecedented” in recent years. He urged Governor Zulum to remain steadfast and view the incident as an act of God.

Governor Idris noted that critical government institutions, including the Government House, teaching hospital, Shehu of Borno’s Palace, state secretariat, schools, and business centers, were severely affected by the flood.

Although Kebbi State has experienced similar flooding, Governor Idris shared in the grief of the people of Borno State and expressed deep sorrow over the natural disaster.

He prayed for Allah’s intervention to replace lost property and grant eternal rest to those who lost their lives.

Governor Idris recommended the establishment of a high-powered committee of experts by flood-prone states to collaborate with relevant federal agencies and develop a lasting solution to the annual disaster.
