Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has appointed Prof. Medinat Folorunsho Salman, a senior lecturer in University of Ilorin, as the pioneer Acting Vice Chancellor of the newly established Kwara State University of Education (KWSUED) Ilorin.
This is contained in a press statement issued by his Chief press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaiye, Tuesday morning.
The statement further reads: “A professor of mathematics education, she was until the appointment a senior lecturer at the department of science education and coordinator of the Educational Technology Centre at the University of Ilorin.
“Folorunsho Salman had her Bachelor of Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1985; a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education at the University of Ilorin in 1990; and a doctoral degree in Mathematics Education from University of Ilorin in 1998.

“She is the first female professor from Ilorin Emirate.
“Her research interests are Mathematics Education, gender issues in mathematics and science education, and innovation in mathematics education in the developing world.
“The appointment is with immediate effect,” the statement said.
