Gen Olanrewaju mourns passing of “veteran journalist, boardroom titan”, Adekunle Ojora

Nigeria’s former Minister of Communications Major General Tajudeen Olanrewaju (Rtd) has reacted to the demise of a Prince of the Royal family of Lagos, Adekunle Ojora.

In a personally signed statement Wednesday night titled “The Passage of Otunba Adekunle Ojora”, the former General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army described the later Prince as a “veteran journalist and boardroom titan”.

He said, “The State and, in particular, the Lagos Islanders, have lost a very important elder of Lagos state, a Prince of the Royal House of Lagos, the Elder Statesman, Otunba Adekunle Ojora, the Lisa of Ile-Ife. He was a veteran journalist and boardroom titan who made positive contributions to the industrial and entrepreneurial sectors of our economy. He lightened up the social fabric of his time in Lagos in particular and across our nation.

“He was a man of significant cultural articulation who took pride in his Lagosian origin as demonstrated in his immense contributions to our arts, our history and the emblems of our sacred identity.

“He was impeccable in mien and integrity, standing tall in princely verities; bold, fearless, distant from putrid time-servers hustling for a soiled lucre as they mortgage their ancestry.

“Here goes a Lagosian of uncommon purity of the soul and of instinctive candor the like of whom remains yet a rarity in this very isle.

“Otunba Ojora will be sorely missed where honor, truth, sincerity, principled audacity are valued as the defining bond of our common humanity.

“May Allah rest and accept his soul into Aljana fridaus, Amin,” said the Retired General who is equally a prince of Lagos State.
