A Wave of fear swept through Ejiba, a quiet town in Kogi State’s Yagba West Local Government Area, as gunmen attacked the newly established Cherubim and Seraphim Church during Sunday service, abducting the pastor, his wife, and several church members.
“It was a terrifying experience,” said a local resident. “The bandits stormed the church, firing gunshots and forcing worshippers to flee for their lives. We are still in shock.”
The attack, which occurred on Sunday morning, has left the community in a state of panic. According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen arrived unexpectedly, taking the pastor, popularly known as Orlando, his wife, and several other church members captive.
The exact number of abductees is yet to be confirmed, and authorities have not issued an official statement. The incident highlights the growing insecurity in the region, with repeated attacks on communities and churches.
