In the spirit of Christmas, Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has donated 1000 bags of rice to the Kogi chapter of the Christian Northern Nigeria Political Forum. The donation, aimed at cushioning the economic hardship faced by Christians during the yuletide, was flagged off in Lokoja on Wednesday.

Elder Ibrahim Itodo, Deputy National Coordinator of the forum, expressed gratitude to the First Lady, highlighting the forum’s commitment to promoting good governance, capacity, competence, and character. He noted that the forum’s decision to support the APC presidency was influenced by Oluremi Tinubu’s commitment to her Christian faith and her potential to promote humane governance.

Hon. Mohammed Kabir Ajana, a former House of Representatives member, commended the First Lady’s effort, stating that the palliative would alleviate the economic burden on Christian communities in the state. He urged Nigerians to remain supportive of the government’s policies and programs, despite current hardships, assuring that better days are ahead.

Madueke Aphram, state Coordinator of the forum, described Oluremi Tinubu as a caring and loving mother, emphasizing that the food item would significantly reduce financial burdens on beneficiaries during the Christmas and New Year celebrations. He assured that the forum would ensure a meticulous sharing formula, reaching major Christian stakeholders across the 21 local government councils in the state.

This donation is part of Oluremi Tinubu’s broader initiative to support vulnerable communities across the country, particularly in the northern region. She has also donated 22,800 bags of rice to Christians in 19 northern states, with each state receiving 1,200 bags of rice and N5 million for transportation.
