The Federal Government is intensifying efforts to enhance the welfare and operational capacity of the Nigerian Police Force, according to Mohammed Sheidu, Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF).

Key initiatives include the renovation and construction of housing for police officers, transitioning police vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), and providing solar power to stations and barracks.

These efforts aim to reduce operational costs, promote environmental sustainability, and improve the overall quality of life for police personnel.

Within the past 100 days, the NPTF has trained 1,000 police officers and signed agreements with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (Pi-CNG).

The Trust Fund is also finalizing partnerships with the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) to establish agricultural clusters for food security.

Sheidu emphasized the importance of collaboration between the NPTF, the media, and other stakeholders to drive awareness and secure support for these transformative projects. He commended the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, for his consistent support and collaboration.
