Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his outstanding performance and leadership in uniting diverse political interests in the state.

Fayemi praised Oyebanji during the commissioning of two road projects in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, stating, “I am surprised with the way you have been uniting all the political leaders of Ekiti State. Not all leaders are blessed or endowed with such skill, not all of us.”
    A Hallmark of Excellent Leadership
Fayemi applauded Oyebanji for aligning with the Ekiti State Transition Law, which prohibits abandoning uncompleted projects initiated by previous governments. He described this as a hallmark of excellent leadership, saying, “I am very proud of Governor Oyebanji. He is a soft and compassionate leader… We thank God that continuity has become a blessing to us in Ekiti.”
    Delivering on Campaign Promises
Oyebanji has delivered on his campaign promises, including paying minimum wage, salaries, pensions, and gratuity of retirees. Fayemi noted, “The hallmark of leadership is successive generation building… Most interesting was that the governor didn’t change the contractors handling the projects. Those who started them completed them and they did a good job.”
    Oyebanji’s Response
Governor Oyebanji thanked Fayemi for laying a solid foundation for his administration, saying, “Governor Kayode Fayemi, you are a good mentor and coach. You have laid your bed very well… Before I start my own projects, I will complete whatever my predecessor started. All these projects belong to Ekiti, so let us protect them.”

    Commissioner for Works Commends Oyebanji
The Commissioner for Works, Mr. Sola Adebayo, praised Oyebanji’s commitment to constructing roads that will expand economic activities, generate employment, and improve emergency services. Adebayo noted that the commissioned roads connect major suburban areas and will boost transportation and opportunities for farmers, traders, and commuters.
    Community Leaders Endorse Oyebanji
Sheikh Jamiu Kewulere Bello, President of the League of Imams and Alfas, Southwest, Edo and Delta States, commended Oyebanji for prioritizing the road project, which now features modern markers and streetlights. Bello stated that the community would work hard to ensure Oyebanji’s re-election to continue benefiting from his development strides.
This endorsement is not an isolated incident, as Fayemi, along with former Governors Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo and Chief Ayodele Fayose, had previously endorsed Oyebanji for a second term in office, citing his unique leadership style and development achievements.
