Today, 17 of his wives remain by his side.

    A Family of Achievers

Twenty-one of Chief Nwankpu’s children, including Governor Francis Nwifuru, are university graduates, a testament to the family’s commitment to education. The governor proudly acknowledged that his father’s wives and children worked tirelessly to train themselves, with the support of their mothers.

A Legacy of Unity and Justice

As Chief Nwankpu ascends to the royal stool, his son, Governor Nwifuru, urged him to prioritize peace, equity, and justice within the community. He advised his father to lead with generosity and fairness, without seeking revenge or perpetuating injustice ². The Chairman of the occasion, Chief Godwin Ogbaga, praised Chief Nwankpu’s contributions to societal development, particularly in the Izhi clan.

A Celebration of Community and Leadership
