A six-month-old baby boy, Lucky Sunday, has gone missing in Port Harcourt’s Diobu area. The incident occurred on Sunday at Aneke Lane, Mile 2 Diobu, City Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to the baby’s mother, Hope Sunday, a neighbor identified as Erica, who sells dog meat, offered to help her carry the baby while she did laundry. Erica, reportedly in his mid-30s and from Akwa Ibom State, then disappeared with the child.
“I wanted to wash some clothes,” Hope Sunday narrated. “He (Erica) came and said I should give him my baby to help me, so that I can spread the clothes. I gave the baby to him because he always likes to carry my baby.”
Hope explained that she had briefly stepped away to attend to her other children. “Before I pursued my other children inside and came out, I did not see him again,” she said.
She sought help from neighbors, inquiring if anyone had seen Erica or her baby. “I asked a woman outside if she saw my neighbor with my baby, and she said he didn’t go far. I asked one brother, and he said I should go to the lotto office, that he said he wanted to charge his phone there.”

Hope rushed to the lotto office but found no sign of Erica or Lucky. “Till now, I have not seen my neighbor or my baby,” she said, clearly distraught.
Erica had lived in the compound for only two months, selling dog meat in front of the residence. Hope emphasized that she had reported the incident to the Azikiwe Police Division at Illabouchi, Mile 2 Diobu.
“I have reported to the police,” she confirmed. The police in the state have not released an official statement on the matter.
The search for Lucky Sunday and Erica is ongoing. Further details are awaited as the investigation unfolds.
