Northern youths under the aegis of Arewa Youths for Peaceful Coexistence on Friday asked President Bola Tinubu the hold elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, Bauchi state Governor, Bala Mohammed and Chief Rufus Ada George responsible for the political crisis in Rivers state.

The youths who were responding to a call by Chief Clark, asking the Inspector General of Police IGP, Kayode Egbetokun to arrest Wike for alleged threats against some governors of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, said if anyone ought to be arrested, it should be those meddling in the affairs of Rivers.
Those who spoke at the news conference on Friday were the National Chairman of the group, Haruna Bature,
National Chairman and the FCT chapter Chairman of the group, Mark Ogah Okpanachi.
The youths said; “The attention of the Arewa Youths For Peaceful Coexistence has been drawn to statements by Chief E.K. Clark and Chief Rufus Ada George calling for the caution or arrest of Chief Barr. E N. Wike, FCT Minister for his response to Gov. Bala Muhammed.
“The Arewa Youths for Peaceful Coexistence wishes to categorically state that Rivers State is currently on ‘Political Fire’ and the likes of Gov. Bala Muhammed, Chief E.K.Clark and Chief Rufus Ada George who supported and emboldened Gov. Sim Fubara to go against the F.C.T. Minister, Chief Barr. E.N. Wike and more recklessly against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Peace Pact are solely and directly responsible for the ‘Political Fire’ in Rivers State.
“Furthermore, Treason is any act of incitement, conspiracy, taking up or conspiring to take arms against a sovereign state to which the individual owes allegiance with the intent to overthrow the government of the sovereign state. Going by this definition and putting the statements and actions of Gov. Bala Muhammed, Chief E.K. Clark and Chief Rufus Ada George in their proper contexts the F.C.T. Minister, Chief Barr. E.N. Wike’s statement is a direct response with the conditional word “if” they continue to interfere in the P.D.P. Rivers State Political Crisis.
“Politics is a game of interest, the Arewa Youths For Peaceful Coexistence therefore wishes to remind Mr. President that the primary aim of these actors supporting and emboldening Gov. Sim Fubara is to gain full control of Rivers State and use its vast resources to stage a formidable political fight against his 2027 Presidential Ambition.
“No matter how cunning they seem or present themselves, Mr. President is most respectfully and responsibly urged to know better”.
