    Breaking: Prof. Aisha Maikudi emerges as UniAbuja’s First Female substantive VC

    Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi has been appointed as the 7th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, effective January 1, 2025.

    She emerged as the best candidate among 10 shortlisted individuals, following an interview by the Joint Council and Senate Selection Board of the University.

    Professor Maikudi has an impressive academic background, with a degree in Law from the University of Reading, a Master’s in Public International Law from the London School of Economics, and a PhD in International Law from the University of Abuja.

    Her academic excellence and leadership skills have earned her several notable positions, including being the first female Head of Department, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law, and pioneer Director of the University of Abuja International Centre.

    As the new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Maikudi brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role.

    Her tenure promises a new era of progress and transformation for the University of Abuja.

    Despite some controversy surrounding her appointment, with some critics questioning her qualifications and experience, Professor Maikudi’s achievements and credentials make her an ideal candidate for the position.
