BREAKING: Bandits abduct over 160 worshippers in two Churches in Kaduna

    Published on

A wave of fear and panic has swept through Kaduna State after suspected terrorists abducted at least 163 worshippers from two churches in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area, on Sunday. The victims, who were attending Sunday service at Cherubim and Seraphim Church 1 and 2, were taken captive by armed attackers who stormed the churches, locked the gates, and marched them into the surrounding bush.

Rev. Joseph John Hayab, Chairman of Northern CAN, confirmed the incident, saying eight of the abducted worshippers managed to escape, leaving 163 still in captivity. “Security officers are already on top of the matter,” Hayab said, urging them to rescue the captives safely and swiftly.[

The abduction highlights the ongoing security challenges in Southern Kaduna, where residents have faced repeated attacks by armed groups despite military operations. The Kaduna State Government, Police, and military authorities are yet to issue an official statement as investigations and rescue efforts continue.
