The Jamat-ul Muslim Council of Lagos has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of renowned Islamic scholar, His Eminence Muhyideen Ajani Bello, who departed this life on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the age of 84.
In a condolence message, the Baba Adinni of Lagos Central Mosque and Chairman of the Executive of Jamat-ul Muslim Council of Lagos, His Eminence Alhaji Sikiru Alabi-MacFoy, described Muhyideen Ajani Bello as a true friend, Islamic icon and scholar who left behind legacies of dedicated service and exemplary leadership.
Alhaji Alabi-MacFoy recalled his 40-year interaction with the deceased in Kano, highlighting his exceptional qualities as a friendly, compassionate and supportive individual revered by people of all religions and ethnic groups.

The council praised Muhyideen Ajani Bello’s contributions to promoting tolerance, peace and harmonious coexistence among Muslims and adherents of other religions in Nigeria, as well as his advocacy for moral rectitude.
The Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria/Worldwide, the Muslim Ummah and lovers of peace will remember and pray for the late Islamic scholar, according to the statement.
Alhaji Alabi-MacFoy extended condolences to Muhyideen Ajani Bello’s family, loved ones, the Ansar-Ud-Deen communities and the entire Nigerian Muslim Ummah, praying for Allah’s forgiveness and abundant reward for his good deeds.
