APC, CSOs at Odds Over Gov Adeleke’s midterm report

    Published on

As Governor Ademola Adeleke marks his second year in office, opinions about his performance are sharply divided.

The opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC), has labeled his administration as “wasteful,” claiming that the governor’s projects do not match the state’s federal allocation.

According to APC spokesperson Kola Olabisi, the state received a whopping N385 billion from federal allocation between January 2023 and September 2024.

However, Olabisi argues that the governor’s projects do not justify this massive funding. He also criticizes the governor for allegedly prioritizing his office’s allocation over key sectors of the economy.

On the other hand, a coalition of civil society organizations has given Governor Adeleke a thumbs up, describing his performance as “credible” with an “excellent record of service delivery.” The coalition’s spokesperson, Comrade Declan Ihekaire, notes that the governor has delivered on his election promises, with notable achievements in infrastructure, human development, and people-friendly administration.

During their visit to Osun State, the coalition had an unguided tour of various projects, interacted with residents, and received feedback on the governor’s performance. They concluded that Governor Adeleke deserves commendation for his efforts so far.
As the debate rages on, one thing is clear: Governor Adeleke’s midterm report has sparked a lively conversation about his administration’s performance. While opinions may vary, the people of Osun State will ultimately decide whether the governor’s efforts have made a positive impact on their lives
