    Headmaster arrested for allegedly sodomizing minor in Igode

    The Ogun State government has taken swift action against a headmaster accused of sodomizing a female pupil at a private school in Eyin Ogbe, Igode near Ogijo. Mr. Ashafa Afelaja was arrested after a concerned citizen reported the incident to the state government.

    According to Adijat Adeleye, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, the government’s rescue team intervened promptly, ensuring the victim received medical care and psychological support. The perpetrator is currently in police custody, and the Ministry is working to ensure justice is served.
    In a separate incident, the ministry rescued a four-year-old boy who had been brutally assaulted by his father in Igboko, Ado-Odo/Ota local government area. The child is receiving comprehensive medical care and emotional support under the Ministry’s protective custody.
    Commissioner Adeleye emphasized the state government’s commitment to maintaining zero tolerance for gender-based violence, child abuse, and domestic abuse. She urged the public to remain vigilant and report any cases of abuse, ensuring swift action against perpetrators.
