A recent spate of deadly stampedes over food in several states has sparked outrage, with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) pointing fingers at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for its alleged economic mismanagement.
The PDP described the incidents as a stark testament to the widespread poverty, hunger, and desperation plaguing Nigerians under the APC-led government.
National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba condemned the APC’s “insensitive, corrupt, and rudderless” leadership, which he claimed has wrecked the economy and pushed millions into poverty.

According to Ologunagba, the APC’s policies have led to a situation where citizens are struggling to afford daily meals, resorting to desperate measures, and even dying in the process.
He accused the APC of prioritizing the interests of its leaders over the welfare of the people, citing instances of alleged corruption and mismanagement of resources.
The PDP demanded that the APC take responsibility for the tragic incidents and provide compensation to the victims’ families.
The party also called for an immediate review of the APC’s economic and tax policies, which it claimed are causing misery and death among Nigerians.
In a statement, the PDP commiserated with the families of the victims and commended Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for his prompt response to the incident.
The party also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and the repose of the souls of the dead.
