The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has dismissed reports alleging that the Old Port Harcourt Refinery has been shut down, just two months after it was re-streamed.

According to Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., the refinery is fully operational, as verified by former Group Managing Directors of NNPC.

Preparations for the day’s loading operation are currently underway, contradicting claims of a shutdown.

The NNPC Ltd. has urged the public to disregard the false reports, which they believe are intended to create artificial scarcity and exploit Nigerians.

This clarification comes amidst concerns over the refinery’s operations, with some reports suggesting it had stopped functioning weeks after restarting production.

However, the NNPC Ltd. maintains that the refinery is fully operational, and preparations for loading operations are ongoing.
