A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged President Bola Tinubu to investigate the recurring national grid collapse in the country.
Oyintiloye, a former Osun lawmaker, described the regular grid collapse as “embarrassing” and emphasized that electricity supply is crucial for businesses and economic growth.
“The frequent collapse of the grid is having a negative impact on businesses in the country,” Oyintiloye said.

“I believe a presidential investigation will uncover the problem and provide a lasting solution.”
He questioned why the grid collapses frequently despite the country having the necessary resources to maintain it. Oyintiloye also called for those responsible for the grid’s maintenance to be held accountable.
This is not the first time the national grid has collapsed. In fact, it has happened 12 times since January this year, leaving many Nigerians in darkness.
The House of Representatives has also initiated an investigation into the recurrent collapse of the national grid.
