Kano – The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has reaffirmed his commitment to installing Munir Sanusi as the District Head of Bichi, despite recent obstacles.
The Emir made this declaration while receiving a delegation from Bichi who paid him a solidarity visit at the palace.
Sanusi described the recent barricade of the Kofar Kudu Emir’s palace by security operatives as a “distraction” and assured that a new date will be fixed for the installation.

He emphasized that the event will take place peacefully, and the District Head will assume his seat in Bichi.
The Emir expressed appreciation for the delegation’s visit, which aimed to clear the air about rumors that Bichi had turned its back on the Emirate.
The chairman of Bichi local government, Hamza Sule, led the delegation and reaffirmed Bichi’s solidarity and allegiance to the Emir.
Sule stated that the people of Bichi are satisfied with the appointment of Munir Sanusi as the District Head and are eagerly awaiting the Emir’s arrival to proceed with the installation.
The chairman denied any opposition or violence in Bichi, contrary to rumors.
The Bichi Emirate was one of the four additional emirates created by former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje after splitting the old Kano Emirate.
However, it was later dissolved by the Governor Abba Yusuf-led New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) government.
