Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has expressed readiness to partner with Jose Batista Sobrinho (JBS), the world’s largest protein producer, to boost livestock production in the state.

Abiodun emphasized Ogun’s conducive business environment, citing the presence of notable companies like Nestle, Olam, and Cadbury.

During a meeting with JBS representatives, including Director of International Operations Fabio Maia, Abiodun highlighted Ogun’s dedicated livestock production zone and agro-processing facilities.

He noted that the state is a hub for agro-processing, with a special agro-airport for exporting perishable goods.
Additionally, Abiodun announced a forthcoming $10 million investment agreement with a Moroccan firm for palm oil by-products.

The deal is expected to be signed within weeks.
JBS plans to invest $2.5 million in Nigeria, establishing three chicken plants, two cattle plants, and one swine plant. The company’s visit follows President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent trip to Brazil, where a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on livestock production.
