In a daring operation, the Kaduna State Police Command has successfully foiled a kidnapping attempt, killed a bandit, and arrested three suspects, including alleged armed robbers and gun runners.

The police also recovered a locally fabricated pistol, an English pistol, and a staggering 216 rounds of 9mm live ammunition.

The story began on October 8, 2024, when a surveillance team from the Kasuwan Mata Police Division raided a brothel in Zaria, arresting 35-year-old Adamu Yahaya, who was found with a locally fabricated pistol, a live cartridge, and a pair of handcuffs.

Yahaya is currently cooperating with investigators.
Fast-forward to December 8, 2024, when a patrol team from Barnawa Division intercepted two suspects, Andrew Emmanuel and Mendwas Peter Bulus, who confessed to being armed robbers operating in Kaduna.

The police recovered a service pistol, two Infinix phones, and suspected Indian hemp from the suspects.
The next day, a police surveillance team attached to Dan Magaji Division arrested three individuals, Buhari Suleiman, Jamil Yakubu, and Aliyu Abdullahi, who were found with 216 rounds of 9mm live ammunition and one round of 7.62x39mm live ammunition. Preliminary investigations revealed that Yakubu had previously purchased 50 rounds of ammunition and was attempting to procure more.

In a separate incident on December 10, 2024, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Damakasuwa received intelligence about an attack by suspected bandits on residents in the Tudu Gishere area. The police swiftly responded, engaging the bandits in a fierce gunfight, and neutralizing one suspect while the others fled with gunshot wounds.

Commissioner of Police CP Ibrahim Abdullahi commended the officers for their bravery and successful operations, urging the public to continue providing credible information to help the police fight crime in the state. The people of Kaduna can rest a little easier knowing that their police force is working tirelessly to keep them safe.
