A Federal High Court in Ado-Ekiti has granted human rights lawyer Dele Farotimi ₦50 million bail over a 12-count cybercrime charge filed by the Inspector General of Police.

Justice Babs Kuewumi granted the bail with conditions, requiring a surety resident in Ekiti and submission of Farotimi’s international passport. The case is adjourned until January 29, 2025.

“We commend the court for granting bail to Dele Farotimi,” said Ralph Nwoke, Farotimi’s counsel. “We will do everything possible to perfect the bail conditions towards ensuring his release.”
