Minister charges new NIPR inductees to uphold ethics

Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has urged newly inducted members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to maintain the highest ethical communication standards and contribute positively to national development.

Speaking at the induction ceremony in Abuja, Idris emphasized public relations’ crucial role in fostering transparency, accountability and trust between the government and citizens.

He encouraged inductees to counter misinformation, promote unity and project Nigeria’s positive image globally.

The Minister praised NIPR’s commitment to advancing the profession and recognized effective communication as essential for good governance. He charged inductees to uphold truth, integrity and professionalism in the digital age.

NIPR President Dr. Ike Neliaku welcomed new members, highlighting public relations’ significance in building government-public bridges and promoting citizen engagement.

He thanked Minister Idris for securing recognition of public relations as a professional cadre in the civil service.
