The Sultan of Sokoto and Leader of the Muslim Ummah of Nigeria, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, has expressed his condolences over the passing of Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello, a renowned Islamic preacher and Missioner of the Kano State Branch of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, who served for many decades.

Sheikh Bello passed away on the morning of Friday, December 6, 2024, and was buried in his hometown of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, in South West Nigeria.

The Sultan described the late Islamic cleric as a preacher with a good conscience and character.

He stated that although Sheikh Bello’s passing was shocking, especially at a time when his kind of Islamic preaching is needed for building the nation through moral reconstruction and spiritual guidance, “we have no option but to accept the demise of the great Islamic preacher and scholar as a natural call by Allah.”

According to the Sultan, “The absence of Shaikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello is a loss to the Muslim Ummah of Nigeria, particularly the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria and the Oyo State Muslim community.”

The Sultan prayed, “May Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds as acts of worship, and repose his soul in Al-Jannah Firdaus, Amiin.”
