    Muslim Ummah has lost a legend, Folarin mourns Sheik Muhydeen Bello

    The 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, has expressed sadness over the loss of a reknowned Islamic scholar, Sheik Muhydeen Bello, describing him as an iconic figure whose contributions to Islam and society will be deeply missed.

    Sheik Muhydeen Bello died in the early hours of Friday at a private hospital in Ibadan, where he had been receiving treatment for malaria at the age of 84 years.

    In a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, Senator Folarin said: “I mourn the passing of an iconic Islamic scholar, Sheik Muhydeen Bello Ajani.”

    “Baba was a great father and advisor. I can’t find the appropriate words to express my sadness but I take solace in the fact that Baba came, saw and conquered.”

    “Nigerian and African Muslim Ummah has lost a legend. Sheik Bello was an international Islamic preacher, scholar and peace ambassador.”

    He continued, “He lived a selfless and fulfilled life where he gave his all for the propagation of Islam. His usual pieces of advice and wise counsel to political, religious and traditional leaders will be greatly missed.”

    Senator Folarin extended condolences to the bereaved families, the Muslim Ummah, and the Nigerian government, underscoring the significant loss felt by many.

    “I convey my deepest condolences to the bereaved families, Muslim Ummah and Nigerian Government. May Almighty Allah Forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus.”

    “The legacy of Sheik Muhydeen Bello will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations, as the African Muslim Ummah reflects on his lifelong commitment to faith, peace, and unity,” he said.
