The sole survivor, the couple’s 13-year-old son, was awake reading in preparation for his examination when the fire broke out. Despite his valiant efforts, he was unable to rescue his family members.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire was sparked by a solar panel. The Osun Fire Service confirmed that the incident occurred around 3:21 am on Monday and that their team joined forces with their colleagues from the Ede zonal command to combat the blaze.

The spokesperson for the Osun Fire Service, Adekunle Ibraheem, revealed that the four deceased children were between the ages of 10 and 3 years old, comprising three boys and a girl. Their bodies, along with those of their parents, have been handed over to the police.

The Ede community is still reeling from the shock of this devastating tragedy, which has left a young boy without his family.
