Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called on workers in the state to improve their service delivery to enhance the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR).

This charge was given during a solidarity support walk at the Government Secretariat, where the governor was honored for implementing the N75,558.24 minimum wage for workers in the state.

Governor Adeleke emphasized that it is unfair for workers to be underpaid despite their hard work.

He attributed the agreed minimum wage to the state’s limited resources, expressing his desire to do more if the state’s revenue was comparable to that of Lagos or Rivers States.

Adeleke urged workers to collaborate with his administration to improve the state’s IGR, stating, “You should join us to improve the IGR in the state to make you happier as a workforce.”

He reiterated his commitment to prioritizing workers’ welfare, citing his fear of God as a guiding principle.

The Head of Service, Ayanleye Aina, commended Governor Adeleke for exceeding the N70,000 minimum wage approved by the President. Osun NLC Chairman Christopher Arapasopo pledged the workforce’s commitment to ensuring quality service delivery to the populace, while urging the governor to continue prioritizing workers’ welfare.
