APC Leadership Crisis in Rivers State Comes to an End with Election of Chief Tony Okocha
The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has finally put an end to its leadership crisis, following the election of Chief Tony Okocha as the new state chairman of the party.

Okocha, the former caretaker committee chairman, emerged victorious during the state delegate congress held on Saturday.
The congress, conducted through voice vote, was presided over by Dr. Adoye Omale, representing the party’s national secretariat. Chief Victor Giadom, National Vice Chairman, South-South, commended the delegates for their peaceful conduct, describing the APC in Rivers State as “one united and indivisible party”.

Giadom urged party members to support the new executives in moving the party forward.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Okocha expressed gratitude to the delegates, emphasizing that his election proved critics wrong about the party’s unity and ability to conduct peaceful elections.

Okocha vowed that the APC would take over the Rivers State government in 2027, leveraging President Bola Tinubu’s achievements, particularly the resumption of production at the Port Harcourt Refinery.
Okocha’s vision includes winning all elections in Rivers State, from assembly to governorship, and ensuring President Tinubu’s re-election. He attributed the party’s success to the dedication of its members, stating, “Our joy is that our members came on their own volition… They came to show their love for the All Progressives Congress.”
