Tinubu writes Senate, seeks confirmation of Ringim, three others as members, Police Service Commission

ABUJAPRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate, seeking for the screening and subsequent confirmation of four nominees as members, Police Service Commission, PSC.

The nominees are Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG, Buba Ringim, rtd; Hon, Justice Adamu Paul Galumje JSC (rtd.); Christine Ladi Dabup and Abdulfatah Muhammed as members.

The letter was read Thursday by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio during plenary.

President Tinubu said, “In accordance with the provisions of Section 154(1) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, (as amended), I am pleased to present for confirmation by the Senate, the appointments of the under-listed four (4) nominees as Members of the Police Service Commission;

“While it is my hope that the Senate will consider and confirm the nominees in the usual expeditious manner, please accept, Distinguished Senate President, the assurances of my highest consideration and personal regards.”

Also, President Bola Tinubu wrote to the Senate, seeking for the screening and subsequent confirmation of three nominees for appointment as members of the Governing Board of Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB.

The nominees are Fatai Ibikunle; Kennedy Ikpeme and Justice Ibrahim Buba.

The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio read the letter during plenary.

The letter read, “In accordance with the provision of Sections 154(1) and paragraph 1(a) and (b) of part 1 to the Third Schedule of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), I am pleased to present, for confirmation by the Senate, the appointments of under-listed three (3) nominees as Members of the Code of Conduct Bureau.

“While it is my hope that the Senate will consider and confirm the nominees in the usual expeditious manner, please accept, Distinguished Senate President, the assurances of my best regards.”
