The Accommodation Committee for the 2024 National Qur’anic Recitation Competition has chosen the Kauran Gwandu Hajj Camp in Birnin Kebbi as the venue for accommodating 296 Qur’anic reciters from across Nigeria.
According to Alhaji Musa Tungulawa, Kebbi Commissioner for Environment and Chairman of the Accommodation Committee, the committee was satisfied with the facilities at the Hajj camp, which has enough rooms to accommodate all participants.
The National Qur’anic Recitation Competition, scheduled to take place from December 18 to 27, will feature eight participants from each state of the federation and the federal capital territory.

Tungulawa expressed his appreciation to Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi for accepting to host the competition. He also noted that the main committee was set up under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness, Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Isma’il Muhammadu-Mera.
The commissioner stated that the inspection tour was conducted to ascertain the viability and comfortability of the camp. He said the committee was satisfied with the facilities, which included ventilation, serenity of the environment, and water availability.
The Secretary, Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Sani Labbo-Raha, led the committee on an inspection tour of the camp, showing them the rooms and facilities available.
