    Neighbour pushes 65-year old woman to death while fighting in Ogun

    A neighbour, Abigel Bankole has reportedly killed a 65-year-old Oladega Morenike while fighting in Ipokia, Ipokia Local Government Area of the state.

     

    Bankole was alleged to have pushed Morenike during a fight and the victim repotedly hit her head against the wall and collapsed.

     

    The spokesperson of the State Police command, SP Omolola Odutola disclosed this in a statement she made available to to journalists in Abeokuta, the State capital.

     

    Odutola revealed that the incident happened around 4:20pm on Thursday.

     

    She said the police got to know of the tragic incident when one of the children of the deceased, Ibrahim Oladega lodged a complaint over the matter.

     

    Odutola said that the culprit had since taken to her heels, though, efforts are ongoing to arrest her while the corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of General Hospital, Ilaro for autopsy

     

    The statement partly reads “November 21, 2024, at about 6:20 PM, Ibrahim Oladega, a resident of Isunba Street in Ipokia, reported an incident at the police station.

     

    “He stated that earlier that day, around 4:20 PM, his mother, 65-year-old Oladega Moronike (now deceased), had an argument with a neighbor, Abigel Bankole.

    “This confrontation escalated into a fight during which the deceased was pushed, causing her to hit her head against a wall and collapse.

     

    “Upon receiving the report, detectives were dispatched to the scene, where they found the victim lying on her back.

     

    “A photograph was taken, and her body was transported to the General Hospital in Ipokia, where she was pronounced dead by a doctor.

     

    “The body was subsequently moved to the mortuary at General Hospital, Ilaro, for an autopsy.

     

    “The suspect fled the scene and is currently at large, with active efforts underway to apprehend her.

     

    “Preliminary investigations are ongoing, and the case will be transferred to the SCID in Abeokuta for further investigation”.
