The wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has described the upgraded runway at the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport in Abakaliki as one of the best runways in the country.
The First Lady made this statement while inaugurating the runway during her visit to the state yesterday.
Tinubu’s aircraft, 5N-FGV, landed at the airport at about 3:17 PM, where she was received by the wife of the Vice President, Nana Shittima, Ebonyi State Governor Chief Francis Nwifuru, his wife, 23 governors’ wives, senators, and other government officials.
“For a state in Nigeria, your runway is better than what I was even commending them for. We want to thank God for the good work you have been doing.
“The Ebonyi governor’s wife is a significant mobilizer; I have to say this. I might not have the opportunity to mention it again, but it gladdens my heart. When we see young people who have their hands on their work and are doing great jobs, they deserve to be commended.

“I thank God for today, and it is with this honor that I commission this runway to the glory of God. We pray that for the benefit of mankind, this runway will allow planes to land safely, take off safely, and that there will never be any accidents here. May this runway bring businesses to Ebonyi State,” Mrs. Tinubu prayed.
Mrs. Tinubu, who was in the state as the chief guest of honor to flag off the Ebonyi State Women’s Day celebration at the Abakaliki Township Stadium, also had an interactive session with the state Traditional Rulers Council.
