Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State, security has been intensified at the state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), located in the Alagbaka area of Akure, the state capital.
It was gathered learned that personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Army, and the Department of State Services have been deployed to the INEC office to maintain peace and order.
Security personnel are stationed at strategic positions around the INEC state office, accompanied by sniffer dogs.

Roadblocks have been set up 500 meters away on all roads leading to the office by the Nigerian Army. The routes leading to the office have been closed to vehicular traffic, with only accredited individuals allowed access.
Additionally, individuals are subjected to thorough screenings by both the Nigerian Police and military personnel at the venue.
