Published on

Gunmen suspected to be members of a yet to be ascertained secret cult group Friday night, shot dead, a disabled man while riding on a motorcycle in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

The victim, identified as Hon. Mutiu Akinbami a.k.a. Igor was killed in-between the popular Brewery bus stop and Olomoore Junction around 6: 13p.m. by his assailants who drove on a tinted Toyota Hilux.
It was gathered that the victim, who was riding on the motorbike with his daughter, was one of the immediate past Councilors in the Abeokuta North Local Government Area of the State.
The deceased, clad in a black polo and a jean trouser, had previously been walking in an iron rod after his left leg had been cut off.
Sympathizers, including members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) closer to the scene and witnessed the incident, said Akinbami’s assailants had trailed him from his house located around the Olomoore Federal Housing Estate (FHE) and immediately made a detour at the Brewery after their mission was accomplished.
