    Man, 30, beaten to death in Ogun hotel

    A 30-year-old man, identified as Olamide Akinolu has been confirmed dead after he was beaten by unidentified individuals at the Osas Hotel in the Wadoye community of Ifo local government area of Ogun State.

    Akinolu reportedly went to the hotel to meet a man whom he had paid N50,000 to rent musical instruments when he was allegedly attacked by some suspects.

    The incident happened at about 12:40 pm on Tuesday.

    Spokesperson for the State Police command, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident, said the matter was reported to the Ajuwon division of the Command by the victim’s father.

    Odutola noted that the victim was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

    She said, “he sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, where the doctor pronounced him dead.

    “This prompted a group of people to organise an attack on the hotel.

    “The hotel manager was injured, and several instruments were damaged during the violence. Our officers were dispatched to the scene to restore order.

    “Meanwhile, the body has been taken to a mortuary in Olambe for examination and autopsy.”

    She maintained that efforts were ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the act.
