Amidst Nigeria’s economic challenges, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has appealed to the nation’s well-to-do individuals to lend a helping hand to the less privileged, promoting unity and social responsibility.

He made this appeal at the 25th edition of the Omo Olowu Day celebration in Abeokuta.
Obasanjo also encouraged Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, to collaborate with the Owu Kingdom to boost agriculture, trade, and business, ensuring development and food sufficiency.
Governor Abiodun reaffirmed his commitment to unlocking Ogun’s tourism potential, highlighting its importance in social, cultural, and infrastructural development. He emphasized the significance of cultural heritage and communal values, noting that the festival celebrates not only the state’s progress but also its rich traditions.
Abiodun welcomed collaborations to foster economic growth and pledged support for Obasanjo’s agricultural cooperative initiative. He also urged citizens to promote peace and development ahead of local government elections, cautioning youths against disruptive behavior.
