    Girl child has limitless potential to lead, shape future — Minister

    Minister of State for Police Affairs, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has reaffirmed her dedication to fostering an inclusive environment where every girl child could realize her full potential and contribute meaningfully to national development.

    Sulaiman-Ibrahim explained that she recently vacated her seat for a Junior Secondary School, JSS 1 student of the Police Day Secondary School, Area 11, Abuja, Miss Ehi Linus, to symbolize young girls’ limitless potential to lead and shape the future.

    Hosting a delegation of students from the school led by their Commandant, DSP Mariam Damilola Yusuf, during the recent International Day of the Girl Child celebration at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, the minister highlighted the importance of empowering young women.

    This, she maintained in a statement signed by the Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations in the ministry, Bolaji Kazeem, could be achieved by ensuring their good education counselling, and safety as well as active participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics subjects.

    Sulaiman-Ibrahim encouraged the students to be serious about their education, increase their imagination, and creativity, and improve on their can-do attitude as well as thinking big toward the future.

    “The ongoing Renewed Hope Police Reforms within the primary and secondary schools in the police ecosystem is a strong commitment of the government to drive excellence in the Police institutions and make them a choice school in the country,” she said.

    The minister added that through dialogue and encouragement, the event served as a powerful reminder of the need to invest in the growth and empowerment of the next generation of female leaders.

    As part of way to specially celebrate the day, one of the students Ehi Linus was allowed to temporarily assume the Honourable Minister role, symbolizing young girls’ limitless potential to lead and shape the future.
