    Bandits kill kidnapped Kanya district head in Kebbi

    The recently abducted district head of Kanya village, under Danko/Wasagu local government area of Kebbi state, Alhaji Isah Daya has been killed by his abductors.

    Daya was abducted by armed bandits along side eight others at his village Kanya. According to vigilante Kebbi state, 8 abductees were rescued unhurt by combined security forces but unfortunately the gunmen killed the district head of Kanya.

    A local from Kanya village who don’t want to be mentioned confirmed that, the monarch was slaughtered by armed bandits, adding that his remains have been deposited at Kanya hospital .

    Kebbi state government through the press secretary to the governor, Alhaji Ahmed Idris also confirmed the rescue of the eight persons abducted alongside the monarch but was silent on the whether the district head was among the rescued.

    However, the Kebbi state Command police image maker, SP Nafiu Abubakar, in a statement confirmed the killing of Kanya district head, Isah Daya by armed bandits.

    The statement added that eight persons that were kidnapped alongside the monarch have been rescued unhurt by security forces in the state.

    CP Bello while condoling the people of Kanya village over the killing of their district head pledged to arrest the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
