The Lagos State Government, through its Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems, has taken a groundbreaking step to revolutionize the agricultural sector with the launch of Agrithon Food Systems. This innovative initiative comes with a N100 million grant fund to support startups in the industry.
Agrithon is an agricultural hackathon designed to provide a dynamic platform for startups to showcase their innovative solutions. Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Ms Abisola Olusanya, emphasized that the program offers participants access to funding, networking opportunities with potential investors, and mentorship from industry leaders.
The Lagos Agrithon will boost and enhance productivity across the agricultural value chain; promote sustainable farming practices and supply chain management as well as improve the overall efficiency in food production and distribution
The application is opened from August 1, 2024, to September 15, 2024. Top 50 selected businesses will submit a 3-minute video pitch, where top 20 winners will emerge.
